Terms & conditions
Last updated: 14 September 2026
These terms explain how our website and publishing services work. They are written for customers dealing with Independent Publishers Ltd. A quotation, proposal or service agreement may add project-specific terms; if there is a conflict, the project-specific terms will apply to that project.
About us
Independent Publishers Ltd is registered in England and Wales under company number 17416154. Our office is Suite C281, 4-6 Greatorex Street, London E1 5NF. You can contact us at info@independentpublishers.xyz or on 0784 875 020.
Website information
The website gives general information about our services. Sending an enquiry does not commit you to buy anything and does not create a contract. We may update the website and these terms from time to time.
Quotes and contracts
Before paid work begins, we will set out the agreed service, price, payment schedule, estimated timing and any important assumptions in writing. A contract begins when you accept those terms in the way stated in our quotation or service agreement. Prices shown on the website are indicative unless we expressly confirm otherwise in writing.
Your manuscript and materials
You confirm that you have the right to provide the manuscript, images and other materials you send us, and that our agreed use of them will not knowingly infringe another person's rights. You keep ownership of your copyright and materials. You give us permission to use them only as reasonably needed to provide the agreed services.
Our services
We will provide the agreed services with reasonable care and skill. Publishing outcomes depend on many factors outside our control, so we do not guarantee sales, reviews, media coverage, agent representation, bookshop stocking or any particular commercial result. This does not affect your statutory rights.
Payment and changes
Invoices are payable on the dates stated in the quotation or service agreement. We will agree any material change to the scope, price or timing with you before carrying out additional work. If a payment is overdue, we may pause work after giving reasonable notice.
Cancellation
If you are a consumer and enter a service contract with us at a distance, you will normally have 14 days from the date the contract is made to cancel without giving a reason. To cancel, email us with a clear statement before the cancellation period ends.
If you expressly ask us to start work during that period and then cancel, you may need to pay a fair amount for work completed up to cancellation. If the service has been fully performed after you expressly requested an early start and acknowledged that the cancellation right would be lost on full performance, the cancellation right may no longer apply. We will explain any project-specific cancellation arrangements before work begins.
Ending a project
Either party may end a project if the other commits a serious breach and does not put it right within a reasonable period after written notice. On termination, you will pay for properly completed work and agreed, non-cancellable third-party costs incurred up to that date. We will provide completed work for which payment has been made.
Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or your statutory consumer rights. We are not responsible for losses caused by events outside our reasonable control. Any other project-specific limits will be stated clearly in the quotation or service agreement and will be subject to applicable law.
Complaints
If something is wrong, please contact us promptly at info@independentpublishers.xyz. We will review the issue and aim to respond within a reasonable time. These terms do not prevent you from using any legal rights or remedies available to you.
Law and courts
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you are a consumer living elsewhere in the UK, you may also benefit from mandatory protections and bring proceedings in the courts available to you under applicable law.
